Postdreaming ???

POST:

Prefix, after effect.

Mail, news, announcement.

DREAMING:

A series of emotive visuals created by the subconscious brain with undetermined cause and effect.

Potentially, a representation of unacknowledged desires or a processing of information gathered throughout the day. Nature’s psychotherapy.

HYPNOPOMPIA:

The transitory state from sleep to consciousness. Post-dreaming.

(Reversed: Hypnagogia, the transitory state from wakefulness to sleep)

POST-DREAMING:

The timeless confusion, intermediate immediacy.

A rose tinted, desolate mental plane.

Thoughts materialising like morning dewdrops on a spiderweb which you tug gently between fingertips to organise on a chronological string. Some dewdrops fall as the stickiness fades, leaving you with a lingering sense of profoundness / revelation for which you can assign no meaning or connections.

A rapid-heartbeat-ed impression that your unconscious concoctions might’ve brinked genius. Or was it doom or urgency ?

The temporality, the fleetingness makes everything seem worth holding onto but your grasp runs out of grip and becomes an uncontrollable sieve.

Your awakening lags long enough to feel your heavy, itchy eyelids run after trains of thought.

Somehow, not being able to formulate coherence through the mist makes everything click into crystal clearness.

The wander of all wonders. Lachrymose and salient.

It’s yesterday - but today - and there are so many questions and contemplations that sleep has endeavoured to answer in vain.

All you are left with is a bad case of magic realism.

Like remembering the future in anticipation and knowing you had a dull time.

The torpid brood drifts as these fragile memories crumble to echoes and the candied afterglow settles.

It’s all over within seconds.
